I just find it interesting that there's this sudden "surge" of sales over the past few days... and right before a show! How peculiar! I wonder what would happen if I did that with Mister Goh... hmmm. Oh, right, the show! I'll be boothing it up this Saturday (tomorrow) in San Francisco at APAture 2007. Click the link to find out more info. I'll have some comics there and maybe some exotic booze... or even possibly erotic booze. posted by Mr. Alexander Shen @ 2:17 PM Permalink | | Wednesday, September 26, 2007 Boulder Run Released ![]() Hooray! The main difference is that I tweaked the boundary boxes on the main character a bit. They are smaller now. So rounding corners a bit earlier will still allow you to go around it as opposed to getting stuck. I've got the alpha version of Boulder Run now online for you to test! The game mechanics are very simple. You basically control your character with the arrow keys and dodge the boulders. The longer you survive, the higher your score. The game only works on PCs right now. As far as progress, the difficulty change has to be tweaked a bit. Right now it ramps up very slowly and does a huge jump. The collision with the main character and the walls needs to be tweaked as well. Thinking about adding powerups and other similar items for you to grab to help increase your score and to stop you from just standing in the middle the whole time. You are an archeologist that has stumbled upon the Great Monkey Idol. Being greedy, you've decided to "take it to display in front of modern civilization". By doing so, you have triggered a booby trap of unending rolling boulders and endless pits. Your goal? Survive as long as possible and maybe you'll escape... but probably not. All I have functioning at this point in time are the boulder shooters and rolling boulders. They are destroyed when they reach the spikes or when they run into each other. The game will have you running around, staying alive as long as possible. With each boulder that is destroyed, more boulders begin to come out. Holes also appear on the map where you can fall in and die. If rocks fall into the holes, that spot because blocked and you can no longer move through that passageway. You have random powerups that appear that will allow you to destroy a boulder or two, but nothing that will keep you from your untimely demise. That's what you get for trying to steal a golden monkey statue! Keep your eyes peeled for more information! posted by Mr. Alexander Shen @ 11:58 PM Permalink | | Wednesday, September 19, 2007 Summer's Over. I've been trying to watch some Mystery Science Theatre 3000 lately to keep myself learned in the world of "cult classics". For those who aren't in the know, MST3K is basically a show where they watch crappy movies and snarkily comment on it. I laughed so hard at this scene I had to write it down. posted by Mr. Alexander Shen @ 12:31 AM Permalink | | Art Poop Listening to: Brian McKnight - Get Over You ![]() I went camping this past weekend with Josie and her friends. I had a great time. We went to some campsite over in Boulder Creek called Big Basin. I partook in a 12 mile hike that Saturday. I felt fine the whole day. The next morning, however, I couldn't feel my legs. ![]() I had no idea what Josie was talking about. I proceeded to ask her questions and try to get an assessment of the idea. I trying to find out if the bear would have to carry the shark onto land thusly the shark would be less effective out of the water and vice versa. She kept saying, "No. They attack together," and purposely not considering my questions or statements. I tried to wrap my head around the idea and explain it in terms of reality. I guess she just doesn't find as much entertainment in making fictional things possible in real life. I felt that if I could justify or figure out the elements on making this "bear-shark" feasible, it'd make for an amazing ally. She wouldn't have it. No, sir. She wouldn't have it. "No, they attack together." ![]() The Bear-Shark posted by Mr. Alexander Shen @ 12:00 AM Permalink | | Sunday, September 2, 2007 Labor Day Eve Listening to: Nothing. ![]() I stuck with sea creatures. ![]() Those aren't tears streaming from his eyes.
