You should definitely check out Cleopatra 2525. It's an older series that has Gina Torres, the lady who played Zoe from the television show Firefly. You don't really need to catchup if you're jumping into the middle of the series. The theme song pretty much explains the plot. Oh, and it's New Year's Eve. Happy something something. I thought I would draw a picture of Lt. Aldo Raine today from the movie Inglourious Basterds. I guess it has something to do with the fact that I have a sinking feeling that the United States Postal Office left one of my packages down in the lobby and that someone (the bastard, in this case) has taken it. I guess I wouldn't be so sad if it were only a $10 loss, but it was $40 after shipping. Honestly, I'm more sad than anything else. I was actually looking forward to using it. I went to the dentist last week. It's the first time I've gone in the last five years. I know, it sounds disgusting doesn't it? Surprisingly, my teeth were in "decent" shape. I did, however, have a few cavities. Because of that, I had to get them filled. In conclusion, I went to the dentist three times in less than a week. The only things I wanted to note would be that my new dentist feels really old school Chinese. The equipment doesn't look like the pristine, white, bleached, sterile foundations you see in dentistry imagery today. It looks a bit more homely and, frankly, down to earth. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be impressed by that fact, but I am. Also, you can tell that this type of dentist doesn't sugarcoat anything. If he's going to clean your teeth, you'd better believe he's going to put gallons of elbow grease into his efforts. Secondly, the devices he used to inject Lidocaine into my mouth looked like the injection devices from Dark City. It was terrifying.

I really dislike touch controls when it involves moving a character around in a traditionally d-pad centric space. I feel the same about the touch screen when using my iPhone in its vertical position. I just end up typing the wrong thing or cause my avatar to impale himself on a nearby spike. Why can't they just let me play it with the d-pad like it was 1989? Hey, it could just be me getting progressively worse at video games, but I just feel like these types of controls are meant for, well, gamers who aren't me. I'll still play them though. I'll admit, it's been a little while since I've done any real comic drawing. I'm late on Robot in the City, I haven't done any Rom Check Fail comics and I just haven't been drawing as much as would have liked in the last few weeks. I don't like making excuses, but the holiday schedule has really made it difficult. You know how it goes, meeting up with old friends, shin digs, visiting relatives, shopping and a whole bunch of other supercilious poop. To justify my recent absence, and to provide myself a way to look back at what I've done, here are a few things that have caused this delay in sequential creative expression: 1. Performed at Umloud as Daylight Savings Crime 2. Watched Cloverfield for the first time 3. Read a number of volumes of The Kurosagi Corpse Delviery Service and enjoyed it 4. Completee Assassins Creed II with 950/1000 achievement points 5. Went to the Giant Robot SF - Annual Print Show opening and saw my prints on the wall 6. Bought some pork buns for the office from Chinatown 7. Visited my niece 8. Got a new kitten named Tonks 9. I Got Balls For Hands 10. Started playing another damned Dragon Ball game! The story doesn't change, but I just can't help it. On December 9th, 2009, I will be singing in the fake band Daylight Savings Crime for charity at Umloud 2009! If you're in San Francisco or just want to donate to a wonderful cause (getting sick children video games to play), then you should definitely check out the event. We'll be on at 8pm or so! It's going to be at DNA Lounge (375 11th Street, San Francisco). It goes from 7pm to 2am. For those who can't make it, I hear that the event will be broadcast live on the internet. I guess it's the sign of the holiday season as snow falls and nipples freeze off (no link, sorry). Even more so, the spirit of giving must be upon us as I've noticed some robots being sold lately. I was talking to a friend today and she used the phrase "a butt that just won't quit". It then sparked the idea of two butts talking to each other, one telling the other they just won't quit. I'm guessing it means the butt is just always "workin' it", refusing to quit... though I'm not quite sure what that's supposed to mean either. Done in a few minutes in my sketch book.
